Prayer is where the action is !

I have no idea why but God has chosen not to act without the prayers of his people. It is no accident that you are reading this blog at this particular minute.  So I'm asking all  Christians that find your way to this blog to join me in 15 minutes of prayer daily.

Claim God's promise in I John 1:9. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Please pray daily for whatever burden the Holy spirit has put on your soul. My particular burden is to pray for all the abused and mistreated  of this world, both people and animals.

Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit I have done an extensive study of prayer that is pleasing to
God and invokes action on His part.  First I will list the order of prayer that works miracles and then discuss the Bible verses that the Holy spirit laid on my heart. First, bind the Strong Man then, Praise ,Thanksgiving, Confession, Intercession and then Petition in this order. You will notice that petition comes last ( praying for your personal needs) and most of us place this at the head of the list and maybe not even consider the other five at all.

1. Bind the strong man. James 4:7 Resist the devil and he will flee from you. You have to get rid of the devil before he will allow you to have a prayer session. (the phone will ring or a dozen other distractions) Just tell him to get out and leave you alone in the name of Jesus and he will flee.

2.Praise the Lord. Psalm 100:4 "enter His gates with thanksgiving and His Courts with praise. Give thanks to Him: bless His name." The only way to enter God's gate and be in his court is with thanksgiving and praise. Once we enter the gate and are in His court then and only then, may we petition the Lord!  Praise is making love to God.

3. Thanksgiving -   Philippians 4:6 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to god."

4.Confession -  I John 1:9  "If I regard iniquity in my heart the Lord will not hear me. But if I confess my sins He is faithful and just and will forgive my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness." Confession is agreeing with God about my sin.

5. Intersession - James 5:16 "therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much." Intersession is praying for others.

6.Petition - John 15;7 "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you. Ask whatever you wish and it shall be done for you."  Petition is asking God for self and should be done at the very end of your prayer session. Many times we only take part in the petition part of prayer and it just doesn't work that way.   Never fail to ask daily for the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

There you have it. Miracle working prayer. Please join me each and every day in your prayer closet ( a quiet place without interruption) praying for the burden that the Holy Spirit has laid on your heart.

Why Immigration Reform is a Good Idea

Our federal government has pulled off a Ponzi scheme that would make Bernie Madoff seem like a petty thief. They have dumped our Social Security funds into the general fund and used it to finance the Federal programs such as unjust wars against countries that have not invaded America. If the congress didn't make the laws of the land they would all be in jail longer than the 150 years given to Bernie Madoff.

The way the Ponzi scheme works is we will use the money paid in by the seniors to run a corrupt government and then pay the seniors social security with the money paid in by the young workers. All was well and good until the "Baby Boomers" started retiring and young people started using birth control, abortion, etc. and didn't replace themselves let alone have four or five kids per family. Now there aren't enough workers to pay the social security of the "Baby Boomers" so we have a crises which by the way was created by our good congressmen.

Now that is the problem but what we need is a solution. Since we can't undo what has already been done by out politicians we need to look at things that can be done today in the now.  I agree with the politicians that say we need immigration reform. If all  these millions of illegal emigrants from Mexico are made legal so that they have no fear of being sent back to Mexico they will begin to pay into the Social Security system rather than sending all their money back to families in Mexico. With millions of illegals now coming into the system the Ponzi scheme can continue until a better solution can be found.

Republicans are losing ground every year.

Anyone want to take a wild guess why Hillary will be our next President? Everyone votes their self interest. DONT MESS WITH SOCIAL SECURITY or you will also lose the seniors.

Quote from George Soros lectures

A few definitions are in order to help understand the Soros terminology. (1) Soros proposes an attractive form of social organization: an OPEN SOCIETY in which people are free to hold divergent opinions and the rule of law allows people with different views and interests to live together in peace.(2) The principle of REFLEXIVITY. Distorted views can influence the situation to which they relate because false views lead to inappropriate actions. For instance, treating drug addicts as criminals creates criminal behavior. It misconstrues the problem and interferes with the proper treatment of addicts. Another example, declaring that government is bad tends to make for bad government. (3) To change the situation to your advantage, I call this the MANIPULATIVE function; politicians acting for their own good rather than the good of the country. Soros gave an explanation to these three terms in an earlier lecture than the one I am quoting below.

The following Soros remarks taken from his lecture "Open Society" given in the Central European University Lecture Series, October 26 - 30, 2009.

"A case can be found by reverting to the Founding Fathers, who formed their views long before the concept of open society was introduced. The Founding Fathers built their case on the value of individual freedom. The epistemological argument they employed was flawed: the Declaration of Independence states that "We hold these truths to be self-evident," but there is nothing self-evident about them. Self-evident or not, however, the value of individual freedom is enduring and, having been exposed to totalitarian regimes, I'm passionately devoted to it. And I am not alone.

Reverting to the Founding Fathers has another great advantage: it allows a discussion of power relations. The constitution protected against tyranny by a division of powers. The division of powers recognizes that there are competing interests and different interpretations of reality within society that need to be reconciled by a political process. The constitutional checks and balances preclude the formation of absolute power that could claim to be in possession of the ultimate truth. The Constitution establishes a mechanism whereby different branches of government interact and control each other. But that is not sufficient.

Open society can prevail only when people can speak truth to power. It needs the rule of law that guarantees freedom of speech and press, freedom of association and assembly, and other rights and freedoms. They empower citizens to defend themselves against the abuse of power and to make use of the judicial branch for such defense. That is how the Founding Fathers created an open society.

Let me spell out my conclusion more clearly. Open society is a desirable form of social organization both as a means to an end and as an end in itself. It enables a society to understand the problems confronting it and to deal with them more successfully than other forms of social organizations, PROVIDED it gives precedence to the cognitive function over the manipulative function and the people are willing to confront harsh realities.

In other words, the instrumental value of democracy is conditional on the electorate's commitment to the pursuit of truth, and in that regard the current performance of American democracy does not live up to its past achievements. We cannot rely on the inherent superiority of the American system and need to prove ourselves anew..."

Have you noticed, your Social Security check is now referred to as a "federal benefit payment"? Remember, not only did you contribute to Social Security but your employer did too. It totaled 15% of your income before taxes. If you averaged only $30K over your working life, that's close to $220,500.

If you calculate the future value of $4,500 per year (yours and your employer's contribution) at a simple 5% (less than what the government pays on the money that it borrows), after 49 years of working you'd have $892,919.98.

If you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years (until you're 95 if you retire at age 65) and that's with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit! If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you'd have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per month. And we haven't even mentioned the people that die before collecting all of their money. That amount remains in the fund.

Entitlement my foot, I paid cash for my Social Security insurance!!! Just because the congress borrowed the money to run the government, doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout!!!

Congressional benefits --- free healthcare, outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days, now that's welfare, and they have the nerve to call my Social Security retirement entitlements?

Now when it's time to collect, the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from our savings in the first place? And heck yes both parties are responsible even if you are naïve enough to still believe we have two political parties.

Halloween

Halloween is the Witches and Satanists most solemn ceremony of the year. It started in the British Isles with the Druids. October 31st was a night of terror called "Samhain". Druids went house to house taking victims for human sacrifice. In exchange for the victim they left a Jack-O-Lantern to protect the home from death demons that night.

Satan loves Halloween because it glamorizes the powers of darkness drawing little kids into his camp. The Lord hates Halloween and its evil origin. Satanic human sacrifices are a slap in God's face. Satan's sacrifices are a mockery of God's perfect sacrifice for our sins.

There is no celebration of Halloween in the Haworth household and here is the reason why. Deuteronomy 18: 9 - 12  forbids Spiritism. "When you enter the land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the detestable things of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist or one who calls up the dead. For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord; and because of these detestable things the Lord your God will drive them out before you."

The End of Time

In the book of Daniel some very significant events of the future are foretold. The last chapter specifically refers to "the time of the end." While we may not like it, this chapter foretells that this time will be marked by world-wide-turmoil. "There shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time" (Daniel 12:1). For anyone with a knowledge of history, this is no small statement. There have been revolutions, famines, earthquakes, and a host of other calamities.  Yet this prophecy tells us that the time of the end will be worse than any time before.

There is one further prophecy in this passage that we should give special attention to. God says, "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." Here are two clear statements of conditions in the world just before the end of time. They remarkably describe the world in which we live. Let's look at them more closely.

We read first that "many shall run to and fro." People have always moved around but never before have we been able to hop on a jet and be anywhere in the world within hours. It once took months to cross the Atlantic.

And then, there is that second prophecy: "and knowledge shall increase." This foretells modern science, especially information processing and telecommunications. Not that many years ago it took considerable effort to research a subject. But now almost everyone takes it for granted that whatever you need to know can be found over the Internet. And I haven't even mentioned space exploration. Just think how much new knowledge this endeavor alone required.

Nothing else has to happen for the Rapture to take place which will occur before Armageddon. Are you ready? If not you will be left behind to endure the awful tribulation and your only means of reaching heaven is to be beheaded for your  testimony of Jesus of Nazareth.

Revelation 20:4  " And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment, was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years."

Politicians and abortion

To be pro-life is to recognize that abortion is the intentional slaughter of children. It is illogical for anyone who holds that view to then say, "Even if a politician approves of butchering children, as long as his position on taxes is right I could support him." The person who says such a thing about taxes--or any other issue--is either lying about being pro-life or doesn't have even a clue what being pro-life actually means. For someone who is truly pro-life, a politician's positions on other issues are irrelevant if he supports the legal killing of children. As for the claim that most elected offices have no impact on abortion, that too is irrelevant. If someone running for office were a member of the Ku Klux Klan, voters would not ignore that fact just because the office he was seeking had no impact on the issue of race. That same dynamic applies to abortion. A person who supports the slaughter of the unborn is not morally qualified to serve in any public office.

The Tell-Tale Heart

I reread Poe's magnificent mystery for the umpteenth time last night. I absolutely love the way he allows the main character tell us that he is a psychopath while trying to explain how intelligent and sane he is. Had I or any lessor writer been telling the tale it would have been much less interesting and exciting.  I'm sure that most of you have read this mystery in a literature class at one time or another. But for those of you that haven't here below is just a taste of masterful writing.

"True- nervous-very, very dreadfully nervous I had been and am; but why will you say that I am mad? The disease had sharpened my senses - not destroyed-not dulled them. Above all was the sense of hearing acute. I heard all things in the heaven and in the earth. I heard many things in hell. How, then am I mad? Hearken! and observe how healthily-how calmly I can tell you the whole story.

It is impossible to say how first the idea entered my brain; but once conceived, it haunted me day and night. Object there was none. Passion there was none. I loved the old man. He had never wronged me. He had never given me insult. For his gold I had no desire. I think it was his eye! Yes, it was this! One of his eyes resembled that of a vulture-a pale blue eye, with a film over it. Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and so by degrees - very gradually - I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, and thus rid myself of the eye for ever.

Now this is the point. You fancy me mad. Madmen know nothing. But you should have seen me. You should have seen how wisely I proceeded-with what caution-with what foresight-with what dissimulation. I went to work! I was never kinder to the old man than during the whole week before I killed him. And every night, about midnight, I turned the latch of his door and opened it-oh, so gently! And then, when I had made an opening sufficient for my head, I put in a dark lantern, all closed, closed, so that no light shone out, and then I thrust in my head. Oh, you would have laughed to see how cunningly I thrust it in! I moved it slowly-very, very slowly, so that I might not disturb the old man's sleep. It took me an hour to place my whole head within the opening so far that I could see him as he lay upon his bed. Ha! Would a madman have been so wise as this? ...

I hope I have included enough of this exciting tale to cause you to rush right down to your local library and check out a copy of Poe's short stories. He is considered to be the father of the short story and murder mystery.

Friedrich Nietzsche

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself."

"The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently."

Friedrich Nietzsche

Franklin D. Roosevelt

"Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy therefore, is education."  Franklin D. Roosevelt

Air Castles

"If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost. That is where they should be. Now put foundations under them."  Henry David Thoreau

George Washington's view while President

How soon we forget history...government is not eloquence it is force. And, like fire it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master."

"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government."

 George Washington

Socrates Wisdom

"The secrete of happiness is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less"

"He is richest who is content with the least, for content is the wealth of nature."

More Than A Carpenter

"Who is Jesus?" Why so much conflict over one individual? Why is it that his name, more than the name of any other religious leader, causes irritation? Why is it that you can talk about God and nobody gets upset, but as soon as you mention Jesus, people so often want to stop the conversation? Or they become defensive. I mentioned something about Jesus to a taxicab driver and immediately he said, "I don't like to discuss religion, especially Jesus."

How is Jesus different from other religious leaders? Why don't the names of Buddha, Mohammed, Confucius offend people? The reason is that these others didn't claim to be God, but Jesus did. That is what makes him so different from other religious leaders.

To say what Jesus said and to claim what he claimed about himself, one couldn't conclude he was just a good moral man or prophet. That alternative isn't open to an individual, and Jesus never intended it to be.

"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about him:" I am ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God." That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg - or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse."

"You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come up with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

This short passage is from Josh McDowell's "More Than A Carpenter". I highly recommend this little 125 page book to any honest seeker of truth. David

Quotes form Mark Twains autobiography.

"For many years I believed that I remembered helping my grandfather drink his whisky toddy when I was six weeks old but I do not tell about that any more now; I am grown old and my memory is not as active as it used to be. When I was younger I could remember anything, whether it had happened or not; but my faculties are decaying now and soon I shall be so I cannot remember any but the things that never happened. It is sad to go to pieces like this but we all have to do it."
