The End of Time

In the book of Daniel some very significant events of the future are foretold. The last chapter specifically refers to "the time of the end." While we may not like it, this chapter foretells that this time will be marked by world-wide-turmoil. "There shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time" (Daniel 12:1). For anyone with a knowledge of history, this is no small statement. There have been revolutions, famines, earthquakes, and a host of other calamities.  Yet this prophecy tells us that the time of the end will be worse than any time before.

There is one further prophecy in this passage that we should give special attention to. God says, "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." Here are two clear statements of conditions in the world just before the end of time. They remarkably describe the world in which we live. Let's look at them more closely.

We read first that "many shall run to and fro." People have always moved around but never before have we been able to hop on a jet and be anywhere in the world within hours. It once took months to cross the Atlantic.

And then, there is that second prophecy: "and knowledge shall increase." This foretells modern science, especially information processing and telecommunications. Not that many years ago it took considerable effort to research a subject. But now almost everyone takes it for granted that whatever you need to know can be found over the Internet. And I haven't even mentioned space exploration. Just think how much new knowledge this endeavor alone required.

Nothing else has to happen for the Rapture to take place which will occur before Armageddon. Are you ready? If not you will be left behind to endure the awful tribulation and your only means of reaching heaven is to be beheaded for your  testimony of Jesus of Nazareth.

Revelation 20:4  " And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment, was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years."
